It has been over a year since my last video so here to start your week right is 20 minutes of lazily-edited cell-phone-filmed middle-of-the-night thrashing on the XJ-S to replace a leaky oil pan gasket and totally trashed steering rack bushings.

@12:15 - Rocking out to 30 Seconds to Mars? :P
Also, didn’t Roadkill prove those triangle air cleaners are terrible for blocking horsepower in an Engine Masters video?
Enjoyed the video btw! :D

I have no idea what the radio was playing. Local rock station that plays the same 4 songs all day. Yeah that air cleaner is absolute garbage but nothing else will fit under my hood.

I have considered a performer air gap intake manifold and bug catcher intake.

I had the same filter on my Camaro for the same reason (older Chevies have very limited hood clearance. No Air Gap intakes need apply). I ended up switching to a low profile filter that’s as big in diameter as would clear the distributor and uses a 1" high filter element. It might not flow any better but it won’t burn if it backfires.
